5 EASY WAYS TO USE 2019’S COLOUR OF THE YEAR: CORAL

Color of The Year: Coral - IKEA Qatar

Add fun and comfort to your space while keeping it vibrant and contemporary with the colour of the year, Living Coral, which has been named the top hue of 2019.

The design world is buzzing with this shade, so here are some ideas from IKEA on how you can incorporate coral into the interior of your home.

  1. Coral Furniture

This one is super easy and you were most likely already thinking of it. Coral furniture, while somewhat obvious, is still a bold way to add this shade to your home.

A statement piece of furniture such as a coral-hued sofa will do the trick. This is a great way to bring the colour in if you don’t want one too many coral accessories placed around the room.

  2. Coral Paint

You might really like this colour as much as we do here at IKEA. If that’s the case, go big and choose a shade of coral to paint your walls with.

Creating a space that feels like a sea of colour – instead of touches of it here and there amongst neutrals – is so much more convenient!

  3. Coral in Small Spaces

If you aren’t really up for painting a whole room, you might want to try the shade in one of the smaller rooms first.

Bathrooms are great for this: you can either paint all the walls or try one accent wall. If not paint, IKEA recommends wallpaper which allows you to pair patterns with colour.

  4. Coral Textiles

Textiles are the much-needed finishing pieces of a home. You can get either a coral pillow for the bed or go for an armchair in coral.

The colour looks great against crisp whites and even navy blues. We recommend you experiment with this one! The choices are endless.

  5. Coral Artwork

Colourful artwork is always a good idea. It often helps tie together palettes of a place perfectly, creating a visually interesting room to be in.

Artwork is usually timeless and easy to change up in case you aren’t feeling them all year round.

The one thing to remember is to always try out different shades. Layering and tiering varied hues of the same colour can introduce an exciting ambience to any room! Whatever you decide, we hope you have the best time doing it!
